A Family of Scholars

Jose Lua, who works in golf course maintenance, now has two reasons to be proud. His daughter Carolina is using her scholarship to finish her studies at College of the Desert to become a licensed vocational nurse. Now her younger sister Rocio has earned a scholarship to attend UC Irvine, where she is pursuing a degree in criminal justice with an eye toward a law degree.
